The "Little House on the Prairie"
Emilie and others suggested "The Little House on the Prairie" series as good reading matter, and I bought the first 5 books from Amazon. I enjoyed them very much and finished to lot in about three days. I won't buy the others, though. What a life! It certainly makes one wonder if the automobile is a blessing or a curse. I don't have one and don't miss it.

I saw the title and had to comment! I loved the Little House books and still own the entire series. I believe Farmer Boy is my favorite, though, as it details life on a Northern farm in that era.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed them!
Dannah
I love the Little House books! Several years ago I bought the entire set in hardback form.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't read The Long Winter yet, I strongly suggest you do.
All the books are well written, but the later books are
my favorites.
Kitty
Cool.. I posted about LHOTP few wks ago. Timeless lessons in that series.
ReplyDeleteK
Kitty, ok I'll get that one too since you specially recommend it.
ReplyDeleteMalcolm,
ReplyDeleteThem you'll want to read the rest of the books, lol!
Happy reading:)!
Kitty
I grew up with my mother reading those books to me and my five brothers. We lived a very rural, almost pioneer lifestyle, especially during my younger years, so I very much connected to the stories.
ReplyDeleteThey are sweet and courageous at the same time. I love them :)
